Teas - Tea is a great way to start your day or unwind after a hectic schedule. Jen treats herself to a mug of quality tea bringing much needed warmth and relaxation to the colder months. "I typically purchase all of my teas from The Tea Embassy in Austin. My favorites are their Women's Tea, Matcha and Blueberry Rooibos. I like them for different reasons and think they are all delicious."
Essential Oils - "If you come to my home, you will see, I always have my diffuser going! The essential oils I gravitate towards are Doterra's Lavender, Peace, Balance & Serenity - all so calming."
Jen adds a few dabs to her wrists, her pillow before bed, a hot bath or diffuses them. Essential oils are a great way to boost positive vibes in your environment and they smell great too!
Total Body Wellness - A large part of self care for Jen is body wellness: taking care of the body you have been given. "I LOVE my infrared sauna and the benefits it provides. Between the circulation, toxin elimination, reduced inflammation and relaxation, it is a game changer. Same with cryotherapy sessions - when I am in LA, I make a point to get there. Although it is so cold, when you leave cryotherapy you feel so revived and energized!"
Making a point to move your body can be the last thing you want to do in winter, but Jen always makes time to go for a hike and take in the outdoors. It's not only great for exercise, but for collecting her thoughts before or after the work day.
Laughter - We don't need convincing that spending time laughing with our girlfriends is THE best mood booster, but we know we need to do more of it! Jen is a true believer that a few laughs with friends is exactly what you need to brighten your week.
"When work gets busy, it can be difficult but you have to make time for fun with the ones you love. It will bring you joy and remind you of all you have to be thankful for in your life. And when I need a quick laugh, America's Funniest Home Videos never fails!"
Positive Intention Setting - "I believe in setting aside time for meditation, reading and prayer each day. It helps me stay heart centered and focused on what truly matters. Each morning I set a positive intention for myself and my loved ones for the day." When you choose to start the day on a positive note, you set yourself up for a better day and those around you will feel that too.
Retreating to Water - For Jen, when it comes to true peace and clarity, you will find her near water. The calming effect of an ocean or lake is something she has always been drawn to and is the inspiration for much of her designs.
